Recent hirings at Unitech Power Systems AS

The team of engineers at Unitech Power Systems AS has welcomed four new team members during the last few months.

Rune Øverås

Rune Øverås holds a master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) and has more than 25 years’ experience from the energy, oil & gas, industry and railway sectors. Rune has extensive management experience, including contracts management, project sales, delivery project management and engineering management. During his career, Rune has accumulated broad knowledge in technologies such as HVDC, subsea power, transformers, medium and high voltage switchgear, railway and metro/tram supply converters, VSDs and many more. Rune is now Senior Adviser with Unitech Power Systems AS and is in our Oslo office.

Marius Hatlo

Marius Hatlo holds a master’s degree in Physics and Mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) as well as a doctorate degree from the University of Manchester. He has more than 10 years’ experience with electromagnetic and thermal modelling, working with cables, Direct Electrical Heating systems, power umbilicals and cable terminations – for power transmission and subsea power. He also has extensive experience with research and development on materials, analysis methods, AC corrosion, cable testing, cable losses and real time rating models for cables. Marius has authored several IEEE, Jicable and Cigré papers, and is currently the Norwegian member of Cigré working group B1.64. Marius is now Senior Specialist Engineer with Unitech Power Systems AS and is in our Oslo office.

Elisabeth Nøkleby Abildgaard

Elisabeth Nøkleby Abildgaard holds a master’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). She has more than 6 years’ experience from Statnett – Norway’s TSO – including as engineering manager and category manager. She is a specialist in the field of HVDC as well as SVC and STATCOM. Elisabeth is heading standards committee 22 (Power Electronics) for the Norwegian Electrotechnical Committee (NEK). Elisabeth is now Senior Specialist Engineer with Unitech Power Systems AS and is in our Oslo office.

Andrea Rapp

Andrea Rapp holds a master’s degree in Electrical Power/Renewable Energy Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) – her master’s degree was earned as a student in the Nordic Master Programme in Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering. She has more than three years’ experience in Electrical Power Engineering in connection with hybrid and electrical marine vessels and rebuilding of conventional propulsion vessels to electric propulsion. Her experience includes power systems analyses with tools such as DesignBase, ETAP and PSCAD. Andrea is now Specialist Engineer with Unitech Power Systems AS and is in our Stavanger office.
