Martin Linge is powered from shore

Congratulations to Equinor on successfully energizing the world's longest subsea alternating current cable to the Martin Linge platform!

In 2011, Total awarded Unitech Power Systems a contract to investigate a solution for power from shore to the field that was, at that time, called Hild. In the intial phase, our task was development of the system design. Gradually, our work has shifted towards verifications and support.

It is therefore with great pleasure that we can now see that the Martin Linge platform is powered from shore. The electrification means absence of large volumes of climate gas emissions from the field - emissions of 200,000 metric tons of CO2 annually are avoided.
