We are seeking an engineer with a master's degree (or equivalent) and expertise in the protection and safeguarding of electrical equipment at high-, medium-, and low-voltage levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protection philosophies and specifications
  • Protection of electrical equipment and systems, including coordination of protective devices
  • Interlocking and intertripping specifications
  • Time current charts and setting tables
  • Documentation and system solutions
  • Communication between protective devices and control systems
  • Assisting with commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of protective devices
  • Participating in fault and incident analyses
  • Personnel safety and arc flash—analyses and preventive measures

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for an engineer with experience in as many of the following areas as possible:

  • Strong background in relay protection, electrical systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of commissioning of electrical installations, including protection systems
  • Experience with fault analysis
  • Solid IT skills and experience with manufacturer and generic software for configuring and documenting protection settings
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 and GOOSE

We have offices in Stavanger, Oslo and Fredrikstad, and successful candidates can work in any of these locations. Remote working arrangements may be considered for specially qualified candidates from other parts of the country.

Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Power Engineering
  • Experience with protection devices and protective device coordination
  • Experience with operational support and root cause analysis
  • Over 10 years of relevant work experience.

 
Successful candidates are:

  • Proficient in the Norwegian language (or committed to learning Norwegian)
  • Proficient in the English language
  • Able to work efficiently on his/her own, but also in teams
