The adventure of Unitech Power Systems began when four engineers and some technical draftspersons resigned from their jobs at Norsk Engineering in 1984 to establish their own company. The journey to the present day has been challenging, but there have been even more successes. Today, Unitech Power Systems is a well-run specialist consultancy with 45 experts in electrical power engineering. Throughout its history, we have collaborated with the largest players in the Oil & Gas sector both onshore and on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Employee number 1 at Unitech Engineering A/S, and later long-time General Manager and main shareholder of Unitech Power Systems AS, Inge Bent Kindem, retired earlier this year. He is largely responsible for Unitech Power Systems becoming a success and a recognised specialist consultancy.
After Inge Bent’s departure, Tom F. Nestli took over the role of managing director (CEO) and will lead and develop the company further together with Bjørn Bungum in the role of COO. Tom and Bjørn have 14 and 33 years of experience in the company, respectively.
Since Aker Solutions ASA, through its subsidiary Aker Solutions Holding AS, acquired all the shares in Unitech Power Systems AS in 2022, Unitech Power Systems has had a strong owner supporting further growth and development. Nevertheless, Unitech Power Systems operates as an independent consultancy, as a separate entity, with its own brand name and at an “arm’s length” distance from its owner, in order to continue its role as an independent consultancy towards its customers.
Unitech Power Systems is today a dynamic and forward-leaning company looking forward to many new and exciting challenges in a time of increasingly rapid changes.
